  1. What's the 5 year survival rate of this tumor?

    A: 60-70%

    B: 80-90%

    C: 10-20%

    D: 20-40%

Answer

Tumor Type

5-Year Survival Rate

Key Findings

Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma (SRC)

~20–40% overall

- Survival depends on stage at diagnosis and extent of invasion.

- Early-stage SRC may have survival close to conventional adenocarcinoma.

- Advanced-stage SRC shows much worse prognosis.

Poorly Cohesive Carcinoma (PCC)

~23–35% overall

- PCC is a broader category including SRC subtype.

- Tends to present at an advanced stage, contributing to lower survival.

- Higher incidence of peritoneal metastasis and chemoresistance.
