A 76 year old male with a large ovarian mass.





What's the diagnosis?
A: High grade serous carcinoma
B: Low grade serous carcinoma
C: Clear cell carcinoma
D: Endometrioid carcinoma
Answer
The correct answer is A. Although the papillary structure may raise the possibility of clear cell carcinoma of mesonephric like adenocarcinoma. The cytological atypia including pleomorphism and hyperchromatic nuclei are more compatible with high grade serous carcinoma.
